Anja's approach to her design work is organic, with each and every project unique and tailored to her clients needs. Anja draws architecture, the bones of a home, and her client's specific lifestyle into her design inspiration, creating spaces that are meaningful and a reflection of the client in their best light.

Anja’s career started off in fashion, where after a decade of working in New York moved to California to launch her interior design business, which since 2014 has grown from strength to strength, servicing clients across California, Washington and beyond.
With a studio and a small team based in the Bay Area, Anja believes collaboration is key in the design process, working seamlessly with architects, builders, sub-contractors and vendors to deliver successful client projects.
Anja’s Swedish roots have a strong influence on her design. Sourcing furniture and decor from all over the globe, the result is a carefully considered, individual home, featuring light woods, patterns, beautiful textures and mixing old with new.
HANNAH SOJKA
SENIOR DESIGNER
Hannah has been on Anja's team as Senior Designer since early 2021, contributing to the layout and look of each space and providing detailed drawings and renderings. She graduated from Kansas State University in 2017 with a B.S. in Interior Design and is also skilled in watercolor painting. Her inspiration comes from loving people and the connection that grows when sharing beautiful spaces.Hannah enjoys hiking with her Malamute-mix dog and always stays ready with a sketchbook to capture an idea on paper.

Karen joined Anja Michals Design in October 2022 providing support to Anja and the team, as well as project managing client builds. With a successful background in Marketing, Karen also looks after our online store MARKET. Following her life long passion of interior design, Karen has recently completed her Diploma from globally recognised The Interior Design Institute.
KELLY MOORE
PROJECT MANAGER
Kelly is responsible for monitoring each project closely, making site visits, and managing order procurement. She ensures that each project moves along smoothly. A Bay Area native, Kelly’s career pivoted from international relations to fashion and interior design. Kelly’s off time is spent keeping up with her 1-year-old son and dog—and dreaming up new design ideas for her house.
